Competitive Examination (CSS) - 2009

Age Limits:
A candidate must have attained the age of twenty one (21) years and must not have attained the age of twenty eight (28) years on crucial date i.e. 1st January 2009. A candidate born earlier than 2nd of January 1981 and later than 1st January 1988 will not be eligible.

Age Relaxation:
The upper age limit will be relaxable by two years up to the age of (30) years for the following category of candidates:

  1. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Buddhist community.
  2. Candidates who are permanent residents of AJK and Northern Areas or belonging to the recognized Tribes of Baluchistan, the Tribal Areas of D.I. Khan and Peshawar Divisions (including the former Frontier States of Dir, Swat, Chitral and Amb), former Tribal Areas of Mardan and Hazara Divisions and Upper Tanawal Area of Hazara Division and former excluded (Baluch) area forming part of D.G. Khan and Rajanpur Districts.
  3. In the case of in service, Government servants including AJK Government servants who have rendered not less than two years continuous Government Service on crucial date i.e. 1st January 2009.

Education:
Candidates should have at least a Second Class Bachelor's Degree. A candidate who has obtained a third division or 'D' grade in his/her Bachelor's Degree will be eligible for the examination in cases where he/she has obtained a higher division in the Master's Degree. The result of the required educational qualification must have been declared on or before crucial date i.e. 1st January 2008.

Number of Attempts:
Candidates who have already utilized three chances at the CSS Examination are not eligible.

Disabled Candidates:
Disabled candidates in the categories of physical, hearing/speech (deaf & dumb) and visually impaired (blind) are allowed to compete against four Occupational Groups/Services viz: (a) Commerce & Trade Group (b) Pakistan Audit & Accounts Service (c) Information Group and (d) Postal Group, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria of education and age limit as mentioned above.

Vacancies:
The number of vacancies to be filled on the basis of CSS Examination, 2006 will be announced later.

Examination Fee:
The fee Rs. 1000/- is to be deposited in the nearest Government Treasury or the State Bank of Pakistan or National Bank of Pakistan, under the Head of Account "C-02101-Organs of State - Examination Fee-Receipt of FPSC". Postal orders, cheques, money orders or Bank drafts will NOT be accepted. Fee once deposited in the Treasury/Bank will neither be refunded nor will it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection under any circumstances.

Eligibility:
Both male and female candidates will be admitted to the examination provisionally at their own risk subject to their being found eligible in all respects. On detailed scrutiny of the applications after the written examination is over, if any candidate is found ineligible in any respect under the rules for the examination, his/her candidature will be cancelled regardless of the fact, wether he/she has appeared in the examination or qualified rheirin.

Note:
To avoid frustration, the candidates are advised in their own interest to make sure before appearing in the examination that they fulfill all the requirements of the rules, relating to the examination.
